Why choose Traditional Chinese Medicine?
Traditional Chinese
Medicine (TCM) has a history of several thousand years. Acupuncture, one kind
of TCM, is a natural therapy that is very effective in treating and preventing a wide range of medical problems. Diseases are cured quickly with no side effects. Acupuncture
has become more and more popular all over the world. If you are healthy, TCM
can keep you fit and beautiful. If you have diseases, TCM can cure them and improve the quality of your life.
How many treatments will be required?
The number of treatments
will vary with the individual and the condition being treated. For acute problems, only a few treatments
may be required. In some cases, one treatment will be sufficient. For complex or longstanding conditions, three to four treatments a week for several weeks may be recommended. Treatment sessions usually last from10 to 60 minutes. Relief may be immediate or may occur within a few hours or few days.
Does acupuncture
hurt?
Acupuncture needles
are solid (not hollow) and very fine in construction. Most clients feel only
minimal discomfort when the needles are inserted. Some people feel no pain at
all. Once the needles are in place, there should be no
significant discomfort. Acupuncture needles are also sterile and disposable, which prevents any risk of infection
Other kinds of TCM treatments
Acupressure, cupping
therapy and moxibustion are all part of TCM, but apply different techniques to the acupoints.
Ear acupuncture is the practice of stimulation of points in the ears to treat corresponding parts of the body.
